Soldiers Beach is patrolled by volunteer lifesavers on weekends and public holidays. Council lifeguards are on duty Monday to Friday.

Patrol hours for the 2010/11 season:

• 25 September - 12 December 9 am to 5 pm

• 18 December - 30 January 9 am to 6 pm

• 5 February - 26 April 9 am to 5 pm
