Patrols Please email me or ring me by 20 October with who you want to buddy up with on patrols, if you haven’t already done so. I will do everything within my capacity to see everyone gets their requests. If not, I will call you to discuss alternatives. As you are aware we have a large number of rookies this year, which is fantastic, but I will only put a maximum of 6 - 7 on a patrol so we don’t overload the Patrol Captains. Christmas Raffle Please start bringing in donations for a Christmas Hamper to raffle off as of next Nipper day. This can be anything you want, from tinned foods to bottles of wine, chocolates, shortbread, Christmas items, etc. I’d like to start selling the raffle tickets by mid November. The goal to reach is ideally $1500 so we can buy a racing mal and donate it back to the club for our next generation of rookies. Any other fund raising ideas anyone has, please put them forward. Rookie Hours The minimum hours for a rookie during the season are 25. Those who reach this goal will be rewarded with a trip to Forster when the season closes next year. You are welcome to do more!!!! Everyone will receive a log book at the Rookie Launch to have their Patrol Captain complete on their various patrols. You will also be able to record all other extra activities that as a rookie, you engage in. The bowlers of the Canton Beach Sorts Club attended the Annual Surf Lifesaving Bowls day at Avoca to represent Soldiers Beach. The bowlers, including members Rixom family Peter and Shane, did an outstanding job coming home with a new racing mal for the club. Thanks to all who attended on the clubs behalf and for the continued support of the Canton Beach Sports Club. ------------------

The Nipper and Rookie membership at Soldiers is growing every year, with our fun approach to teaching the kids surf awareness and skills, proving to be the key to success for individuals and in competition.
